New Canaan High School – MHR is preparing a Comprehensive Energy Plan that includes development of a master energy plan to address: net benefit of solar, oil to gas fuel conversion, predictive demand management, LED lighting, and CHP measures. MHR prepared an RFP and oversaw implementation of the solar PV system. Solar Phase II will include implementation of a 200 – 500 kW DC solar system in connection with the successor program to Connecticut’s Low and Zero Emissions Renewable Energy Credit (LREC/ZREC).
Saxe Middle School – MHR prepared a multi-building solar RFP, assisted and advised NCPS on selecting a solar contractor. Obtained an extraordinarily competitive PPA rate through the competitive RFP process and oversaw implementation of the solar PV system. MHR advised the school in the installation of a 75 kW CHP system.
South Elementary School – MHR conducted a portfolio review and solar feasibility assessment for NCPS. The multi-school solar implementation plan began at South Elementary School immediately following installation of a new solar-ready roof. The solar system provides nearly all the power required by the school on an average annual basis. The solar system alone will save the school over $1,000,000 over the next 20 years. Along with the conversion to natural gas and recently installed LED lighting, this public school is approaching net-zero with respect to total grid-supplied energy.
West Elementary School – MHR prepared a multi-building solar RFP, assisted and advised NCPS on solar investor and contractor counterparties. Obtained more competitive PPA rate through the RFP process and oversaw implementation of the solar PV system.
East Elementary School – MHR secured the ZREC for East School, NCPS installed a solar PV system via a PPA.
Dunning Stadium – The Dunning Stadium solar system is owned by the Town of New Canaan; the system was installed on New Canaan High School’s gymnasium. Click Here for more information on MHR projects installed for the Town of New Canaan.
