Green Award for Innovation (AZA) - 2025

The Maritime Aquarium

AZA is the primary accrediting body for zoos and aquariums.  AZA’s rigorous, scientifically based, and publicly-available standards examine the zoo or aquarium’s entire operation, including animal welfare, veterinary care, conservation and education.  The Maritime Aquarium received the Green Award for Innovation, based on comprehensive clean energy upgrades that include a combined heat and power with an absorbtion chiller.

2030 District Gold Change Makers Award - 2019

Clocktower Close Condominium Association, Inc.
The deep energy retrofit of the Clocktower Close Condominiums received the 2019 Change makers Award.  This award acknowledges local business owners for creating energy efficient buildings for the districts economic development.

Town of New Canaan
The deep energy retrofit of the Town of New Canaan's municipal and school buildings received the 2019 Change makers Award.  This award acknowledges local business owners for creating energy efficient buildings for the districts economic development. 

2030 District Gold Change Makers Award - 2018

School Sisters of Notre Dame
The deep energy retrofit of the School Sisters of Notre Dame's Wilton Campus received the 2018 Change makers Award.  This award acknowledges local business owners for creating energy efficient buildings for the districts economic development. 

2030 District Gold Change Makers Award - 2016

Earthplace - Nature Discovery Center
The deep energy retrofit of Earthplace received two awards, including the Change Makers Award, given by Stamford 2030 of 2030 Districts across the country.  This award acknowledges local business owners for creating energy efficient buildings for the districts economic development.

PACEsetter Award - Outstanding Project - 2015

Earthplace - Nature Discovery Center
The deep energy retrofit of Earthplace received two awards, including the PACEsetter Award, given by the Connecticut Green Bank (CGB).  This award acknowledges those who are advancing the green movement through C-PACE programs.

Nutmeg Award - Best Green Property - 2012

Pepperidge Farm Apartments
The sustainable practices of Pepperidge Farm Apartments (597 Westport) received the Nutmeg Award for Best Green Property from the Connecticut Apartment Association.  These award the best and the brightest multi-family properties in Connecticut.

Windermere on the Lake, a 74 acre conservation community, won HOBI awards:

LEED Certification - 2009

Windermere on the Lake
Cumbria House of Windermere on the Lake (74 acre conservation community) received LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) certification with a score of 66.5. This home was the first LEED certified home of its size in the Northeast.

Preservation Achievement Award - 2008

American Brewery Lofts
The preservation efforts of the project for American Brewery Lofts received the Preservation Achievement Award from the Boston Preservation Alliance.  These highlight the historic preservation efforts of different projects in the Boston area.

EnergyStar Certifications 

Many Projects and Installations
Various projects, such as the high performance homes of Windermere on the Lake have received EnergyStar certification.  Moreover, many of the products used in the retrofits are EnergyStar certified.
